Michael A. Wentz, Esquire
Since joining Boonswang Law in 2019, Mike’s tireless efforts have resulted in insurance companies paying his clients over $6,000,000.00.
Mike is admitted to practice before the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey, the Eastern District of Michigan, Northern District of Ohio, and the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Further, Mike has been granted permission to appear in life insurance cases in federal courts in both New Mexico and Florida.
Michael A. Wentz earned his two B.A. degrees, cum laude, in Education and History from Rowan University in 2013. After graduating, Mike began to forge his path towards helping those in need by becoming a high school history teacher and sports coach where he grew up in southern New Jersey. After three years of teaching and coaching, he followed his passion to law school at Drexel University’s Kline School of Law.
In law school, Mike’s love of competition drew him to Drexel’s nationally ranked mock trial team. Mike helped carry on Drexel’s legacy of success when, as a second-year law student, he and his teammates won the Philadelphia Regional American Association for Justice (AAJ) Student Trial Advocacy Competition. The success continued into Mike’s third year when he was named “Outstanding Advocate” in the “Summit Cup,” an invite-only competition open to the top-12 mock trial teams around the U.S. hosted by the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Towards the end of Mike’s law school career, his trial advocacy ability was recognized by the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association’s decision to present him with the James J. Manderino Award for Trial Advocacy.
Ultimately, Mike’s time at Drexel’s Kline School of Law culminated in earning his J.D., cum laude, in 2019. That same year, he was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Since joining the Boonswang Law Firm, Mike has already put his competitive drive to good use by providing zealous advocacy resulting in insurance companies paying his clients over $3,000,000.00.
Joseph E. Mattia, Esquire
Joseph E. Mattia earned his B.S., magna cum laude, in business administration with a major in economics and legal studies from Drexel University in 2015. He was able to attend Drexel because he was accepted into the Liberty Scholars program, which is a full scholarship awarded to Philadelphia natives. While at Drexel, he was an active member of the Drexel Economics Society.
He received his J.D., cum laude, from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law. Throughout law school, he was dedicated to helping underserved populations. He volunteered his time at the Military Assistance Project (MAP), where he helped indigent veterans file for bankruptcy. Joseph also worked at the Defender’s Association of Philadelphia, where he helped people get the legal representation they deserved.
Joseph is new to the team, joining the Boonswang law firm in September of 2018. Joseph is a highly dedicated and motivated attorney. He believes that the needs of the client are of the utmost importance, and he takes this approach when dealing with every case.
Alexander E. Griffith (Paralegal)
Alexander E. Griffith graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a minor in Political Science. While in college Alex participated in the SUNY-MSU Exchange program, studying Russian history and politics at Moscow State University in Russia.
Before joining The Boonswang Law Firm in July of 2018, Alex worked at several major law firms in Pennsylvania and New York handling cases including product liability, insurance defense, foreclosure, and asbestos litigation. In his current position, Alex leverages his experience in a wide variety of legal fields to help clients resolve their complex life insurance matters. Alex knows that no two clients or cases are the same, and he treats each one with the personal attention and care they deserve.
Zion K. Aregahegn (Litigation Assistant)
Zion K. Aregahegn is a Litigation Assistant at the Boonswang Law Firm. She started working for the firm in 2017 as an Intake Specialist and Administrative Assistant for her second co-op through Drexel University, and stayed with the firm for her third co-op as a Litigation Assistant. Zion has prior legal experience, having worked at Atwood & Associates in 2013 and 2014, and at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP as an Administrative Assistant and later as an Assistant Paralegal in 2016 and 2017. Working at the Boonswang Law Firm has built upon Zion’s legal knowledge and she has strengthened her professional communication skills by regularly corresponding with clients and opposing parties. Following graduation, Zion will remain with the firm as a Litigation Assistant.
Anastasia L. Baranowski (Law Clerk)
Anastasia L. Baranowski graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2017 with a major in Political Science. While at TCNJ, she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha where she spent a year as head of their judicial board and participated in regular community service with them, specifically regarding breast cancer education and awareness. Anastasia is currently a student at Temple University Beasley School of Law, expecting to graduate in May of 2020. At Temple, she is the treasurer of the Student Wellness Association, and am enrolled in Temple’s Trial Advocacy Program.
Before joining The Boonswang Law Firm, Anastasia interned in the chambers of the Honorable Judge Jerrold N. Poslusny Jr. of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. Since joining Boonswang in the fall of 2018, Anastasia has been a Law Clerk dedicated to assisting the office with research, communicating with clients, and other tasks as needed.
